Most very small websites are a minimum of four pages in total. However simple you wish your web presence to be there are still some things that must be included on your website. Even a very small site should follow the rules. The first page that is clicked on has got to be the most impressive. This is where the browser will decide if they are going to stay on your site or click on another more impressive looking one. The first page has to make a good first impression and have clear and logical links to other pages in your site. The main section of your site should have information and/or products that are listed in order of importance and the browser should be able to navigate to their chosen information with ease. The correct design can cost money if you are going to pay a company to set up the website for you but can be worth every penny if your site is going to attract the attention that you would like it to.
How Much Will My Web Page Cost?
There are some expenses that will have to be paid whether you build your own site or whether you get someone else to do it for you. The first thing that has to be done is the registration of your domain name and this requires a payment of £3-£10 minimum and should then be paid annually. You will also have to pay charges for the rental of the web space you are using and this also costs around £3-£10 per month and should be paid in advance.
And the Site itself?
If you are setting up your own web site that's pretty much it on the cost side of things. However, most people will pay a professional for this. A basic site can be set up for under £200. This is very rare and is going to be a very basic site indeed. A slightly more detailed site of around four pages will generally cost £400-£600 to build. Some companies will charge £50 more per page added after this or they will simply give you a price for a larger site in general. There may also be some maintenance costs to think about and this is usually paid monthly to the company that has built the site or they will charge you every time you wish to make changes. Only you can tell what sort of package you will need and how often you may need to adjust the content on the site.
